Trying Again

Last year’s gardening ended when I dislocated my hip—again—and had more surgery. I pulled this up to find out the names of the roses I planted last year, and I only named Miss Congebiality and the two Party Dresses. I had planted two Happy Chappies, a Disneyland, a Lady Bird, a Denver’s Dream, a Rainbow’s End, and a little yellow rose in the butterfly garden. I pulled this blog up to find the name of the yellow rose—no luck. My neighbor planted some of them while I was in the hospital last spring, so they aren’t necessarily where I wanted them. I think the Rainbow’s End did not make it. The Julia Child rose that was two or three years old dodn’y, either. Denver’s Dream is struggling. I moved her and hope for the best. I moved one of the Happy Chappies—it has a huge tap-style-root! I also moved Lady Bird. She had died back to the roots but is producing new growth. Last year, Disneyland was tiny and could not support it’s gorgeous flowers. This year’s growth seems much more vigorous,
